1957 E Street (Elliott School of International Affairs Building)
Article written by an anonymous user.
The Elliott School Building is awesome. It was completed in 2002, and overlooks the monuments on the National Mall and is across the street from the State Department. On the seventh story, there is a balcony where the Elliott School sometimes throws parties, which are known to have one of the best views in DC.
The classrooms are very nice. Lecture halls have padded adjustable seats and huge display screens. There are usually tables instead of desks, which is nice for when you want to spread out your books.
Most classrooms come equipped with power plus in case you want to take notes on your laptop. Smaller classrooms are nice as well. The building also has two computer laboratories and all of the offices for Elliott School professors. There is a Starbucks on the lower level too, in case you need some coffee before class.

Hillel
Article written by an anonymous user.
George Washington University has a large and vibrant Jewish community, and the Hillel is the center of it. One student described the role of this organization is ?Making Judaism fun.? The Hillel offers a variety of activities and opportunities for Jewish and non-Jewish students alike. Reform, conservative, and orthodox services are held once a week on Friday nights, and these functions are well attended. The Hillel also serves exceptional kosher dinners on Friday nights where students can socialize and meet other members of the Jewish Community.
GW?s Hillel hosts a wide variety of student groups, educational activities, and social events. One of the largest groups on campus, the Student Alliance for Israel (SAFI), is run out of the Hillel. No doubt, SAFI is one of the most active and successful pro-Israel groups in the nation. The organization also adds to campus life by hosting fundraisers at bars where students can support pro-Israel activism. Moreover, the Hillel distributes Birthright grants and sends many students to Israel every year.
The Hillel also gives students educational opportunities. Both Hebrew and Arabic language classes are taught, and the Hillel will hold symposiums on a number of Jewish issues. For example, one recent speaker spoke about Judaism and homosexuality.

Wednesday Favorite - Brownies
Article written by an anonymous user.
Brownies is the hottest place to be on Wednesday nights for Saint Joseph?s and Villanova students?. Period! This bar is packed with beautiful college women, live music, and 75-cent beers until Midnight.
There is a 5 dollar cover, but its worth it for the party that goes on inside. All night people are over energized on 2 dollar red bulls and vodkas, which give the place a high energy feel.
The bands that perform are either hit or miss, and most of them just play covers. Brownies is very strict on IDs, and even though we don?t promote the use of fake IDs ever, this is definitely the wrong bar to test your luck.
Once you are 21, Brownies is an excellent place to lose a few brain cells during the week. With cheap food and drinks served all the time, Brownies is a great place to party when you are a Saint Joseph?s student.
Best Night: Definitely Wednesday
Best Drink: $2 Red Bull and Vodka (Wednesday Only)
Best Food: Free pizza and wings?.thank god for Wednesday

Coast-to-Coast
Article written by an anonymous user.
George Washington's classes vary drastically in all aspects. Because the university is in the middle of Washington, DC, nationally renowned experts in many fields come to GW to teach on a part time basis. Some of these adjunct professors are exceptional because they bring their experience to bear in the classroom, but others never really develop a knack for teaching.
Academic difficulty also varies widely. As a school that just misses a first tier ranking, George Washington student run the gamut in terms of scholastic ability. Classes reflect this, and some are unbearable while others are a walk in the park. Students opinion on overall class difficulty falls into three general categories: 1) Nearly all classes are relatively painless, 2) It is very hard to get an A, but very easy to get a B, and 3) Incompetent professors make classes hard.
The Student Subway opinion is that George Washington offers a sound education in nearly all fields of study. Even smaller ones, such as Theater, are able to draw from the resources of the nation's Capitol to provide a quality education. Because George Washington is respected in many areas and professors provide students with important connections, graduates should be able to find jobs in the field of their choice.
