Diversity

At the time of this writing Villanova diversity is, well, very white. It is 84 percent Caucasian which has earned it the nickname "Vanilla-nova." Other minority groups are 5 percent Asian, 5 percent Hispanic, and 3 percent African American.

Boys and Girls

With regard to undergraduates, Villanova is 49 percent male and 51 percent female.

Attitude and Dress

While Villanova does not have a reputation of looking down on being different, students are a lot alike. Just looking around on campus you get the feel that the majority of students are very preppy. A walk through the Quad entails you making your way through seas of pink and greens. Most of the student dress in jeans or khakis and a polo or sweater. Almost everyone is sporting designer brand preppy labels such as Lacoste and Lilly Pulitzer.

On the Real -

Villanova University is the only suburban school in Philadelphia, PA that Student-Subway covers. We chose to cover it for a reason (not because we have friends there). We covered Villanova because it is a great school. Despite their lack of diversity and preppy surface, Villanova brings a great curriculum and produces students that make something of themselves once they leave the Villanova bubble and enter the real world. It is a great school with a great reputation.
