Villanova is set in a suburb of Philadelphia. It takes about 15 or 20 minutes to drive to downtown Philly from campus. The location is a feature of the school because it is close enough to a major city for one to experience city life while having the safety of a suburban setting.

It is off of the Main Line which is a hub of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment just outside of downtown.

Villanova is both a private and an expensive school. The majority of the kids that attend the university tend to be upper middle class.

The school is not very diverse. It is 85% Caucasian which has caused the school to be nicknamed "Vanilla-nova." The better part of the student body can be categorized as preppy. However students say that there is not a great deal of snobbery on campus. It is a pretty friendly atmosphere. The best way to get a feel for the student body is to visit campus.
