Penn Shuttle and Penn Bus
Article written by an anonymous user.
The Penn Shuttle is a van service run by the university that drives pick up and drop off students on and around the Penn campus. There are several vans on call during the day and night which will pick-up students and drive them to their desired location on or around campus within approximately 20 minutes of the student’s request for a shuttle.
The PennBus is a system of two buses driving in opposite directions along the same route across and around the Penn campus. The buses will only pick-up and drop-off passengers at designated PennBus stops on-campus and at any corner with a stop sign or stop light off-campus.
The Campus Loop service is a new system of buses that drive a loop around the perimeter of the Penn campus. The buses will pick-up and drop-off passengers at any corner along their route with a stop light or stop sign.
A valid PennCard must be shown to the driver in order to use any of these services. For more information about Penn Shuttle, PennBus, and the Campus Loop, as well as a map of their routes and a list of scheduled stops, please visit http://www.upenn.edu/transportation/.

UPenn Parking
Article written by an anonymous user.
Parking tends to be a bit tricky and many times becomes a hassle. The university operates a good amount of parking lots and garages, but the daily demand for parking always outstrips supply. Parking in university-operated lots is by permit only. Permits may be obtained from the Penn Parking office for a fee, and are valid for one year. More information about parking can be found at
Street parking, while more readily available, can also be a hassle. Street parking is limited to two hours on most streets in the area, and is strictly enforced. The City of Philadelphia employs an army of meter maids who enjoy nothing more than issuing parking tickets all day long. Parking is monitored from 8am to 6pm Monday through Saturday. Parking on Sundays is free.

SEPTA and UPenn

Buses and Trolleys:
The SEPTA bus and trolley system will take you anywhere you need to go within the Philadelphia area. Several bus and trolley lines run across or near the Penn campus. For complete service, schedules, fares, and maps, please visit http://www.septa.com.
Trains and 30th Street Station:
This major train station is located on the corner of 30th and Market Streets, just past Penn’s campus. All SEPTA train lines pass through this station. Since both SEPTA and Amtrak service this facility, you can get to pretty much any location on the East Coast from this train station.
Subway:
The subway network is not all that extensive, although it will easily get you to the stadium complex, downtown, and the Tweeter Center (just across the Delaware River in Camden) from Penn’s campus.

UPenn Taxi Cabs
Article written by an anonymous user.
Cabs are rather easy to find on Penn’s campus. They can always be found driving down 38th Street or Spruce Street, as well as most other streets in the area. There is also a taxi stand located about 100 feet down Spruce Street from the corner of Spruce and 38th. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to hail a cab on the street, there are pages of taxi companies listed in the phone book which will be more than happy to pick you up.
