Students say that one of the best things about going to Temple is the experience they gained from living in a big city. Some say that they learned more outside the classroom than they did inside a classroom, because they gained real-world experience.

Being a large public university with an undergraduate enrollment of around 23,000, students are very diversified at Temple. Walking around campus, there are so many different faces that you are always seeing new people. At Temple you will not experience the cliques and small-mindedness that you would at a smaller school.

Because Temple is actually like a mini-city, students may not always come off as friendly, and do not be surprised when they do not go out of their way to say hi. However, like a large city, there are so many different kinds of people. Making friends at Temple is easy to do because there are so many people that there is bound to be a group of friends just like you. Students at Temple tend to be open-minded and understanding of everyone.

Some students at other schools say their college feels just like a high school. This is not the case at Temple. Walking around Temple's campus on a normal school day, you automatically feel like a grown-up. Whether it is because you are finally on your own, or because you are in a large city, Temple has a way of making you feel important, like you belong there.

A Top-Notch Education

Academics at Temple are second-to-none. Because students can choose from over 125 majors in 17 schools, there is no need to worry if you do not know what you want to do with your life, or if you want to change your major. No matter what major you choose, the schools' core curriculum prepares you with a basic education in liberal arts. The professors at Temple are some of the best in their fields. Many teach in addition to working in their profession, so the education you gain from them is guaranteed to be the best you will find.

Big Name

There is nothing wrong with wanting to go to a school that is well-known. At Temple, you have nothing to worry about in that case. Known for its excellent academics, famous alumni (such as Bill Cosby), and athletics teams (the men's and women's basketball teams are both at the top in their division), you'll have plenty to brag about if you go to Temple.
