When entering Temple the freshman year on top of getting the normal meal plan I highly recommend getting Diamond dollars. Diamond dollars are loaded onto your student ID (which you cant go anywhere without) and is easy to use at many locations on campus.
Diamond dollars are a great way to buy snacks in between classes, ordering food and booze at the draft horse, quoda, starbucks, etc. Many food trucks also take Diamond dollars when you don’t have cash, or want to spend your parent’s money.
Some of the best places to get food in between classes are for breakfast are the Bagel Hut, and Pretzel stands located in most buildings or in front of the library. On weekends, the best breakfast is in Johnson and Hardwick with make your own waffles and omelet stations.
If you love fast food Temple’s campus and surrounding areas are great. On campus you have Taco Bell, Burger King and Wendy’s. If McDonald’s is more up your alley you have to walk 2 blocks for it, across from White Hall.
If fried chicken is your calling you have your option of Lincoln fried chicken or Crown fried chicken.
So, the freshman 15 is inevitable, but there is a nice gym on campus, which is free… So make the trip to the gym for some classes, running on the indoor track, or lifting weights.
Enjoy

Louis J. Esposito Dining Court, located in Johnson/Hardwick Complex, is the largest food court and offers 13 different food stations to choose from. Some of the stations include Braided Crust Pizza, Homestyle Entrees, Soul Food, Classic Grilled Sandwiches, and Specialty Ethnic Cuisine. The food court also offers six self-serve stations such as a salad bar, a deli bar, and a pasta bar. One cool thing that makes this food court stand out from the others is the "Top Hits" Vegan chef station, for the vegetarians out there. This food court is open from 7:30 a.m. until midnight.

Temple has a large variety of places to eat, on and off campus. The places on campus are naturally more convenient, and surprisingly have a lot to offer for cafeteria food. The main food court is Valaida S. Walker Food Court, located in the Student Activities Center.

Meal Plans
Article written by an anonymous user.
To go along with the many options Temple Dining Services offers, there are many different meal plans to choose from as well. While freshmen are required to have a meal plan, unless they live in a dorm with apartments, most students say stick with the smaller meal plans - the big ones are a waste. Students can choose from a Super Value meal plan, designed specifically for under-classmen living on-campus.

The Temple University Food Court is a popular choice for students because it has a bunch of chain restaurants, including Burger King, Taco Bell, Cinnabon, and Freshens Smoothies. In addition to these options, students can choose from over 10 other stations, such as Sizzling Salads, Asian Cuisine, and Philly Deli. There is also Red Sauce, which offers pasta dishes, It\'s a Wrap, a sandwich wrap station, and Good to Go, which offers meals or snacks already made and ready to go. Another dining alternative is Fresh Bytes. Located in the lower level of Tuttleman, Fresh Bytes offers food more for the health-conscious, as opposed to burgers and fries.
