In making a statement that being a college student in the St. Louis metro area is the best is not just a one sided opinion. I have traveled all over the world an still I have seen no better place to go to school than the St. Louis are. If it is Wash U, SLU, Webster, or any other colleges around the St. Louis metro.
St. Louis offers so many activities outside of class at a reasonable price it is unreal. The history and fans of the St. louis cardinal being only one, is one of my personal favorites. Going to a game on a bright spring day with beverage in one hand and a hot pretzel in the other is like no feeling on earth. When you have been studying all winter long, to sit in that seat and not have to think about classes that feeling will always stay with you I promise you that.
Even if baseball is not your thing St. Louis is the town with big city appeals with a small town attitudes. So if you are coming from an area of the country and are afraid of the big city this is the town for you. No matter if you want to see the sites of forest park the home of the 1910 world fair with the art museum, history museum, a pretty good golf course and restaurants this is your kind of town. With the metro link L train you can also be just a short ride away from anywhere you want to go. If you want to get that college craziness out you can always hit the Landing at the St. Louis riverfront.
The bar an restaurant scene is like no other if I had to compare it would only be rivaled only by Bourbon st. In saying that St. Louis also hold the second biggest Marti Gras party in the country held in the Soulard district. St. Louis is steeped in history and is laced with fun. The center of everything is here it is the best place of all to go to school. I challenge anyone to tell me or show me another place that can beat it.

One thing I love about living in St. Louis is there's not just one cool or trendy area. You could probably spend an entire week in St. Louis and not visit all the great areas away from downtown. One of my favorites is Maryland Plaza in the Cental West End. It has a ton of really nice restaurants like Scape, The Drunken Fish, and Bar Italia and also cute coffee shops and cafes like Crepes etc and Coffee Cartel, all of which are open late.(crepes has free gelato samples sshh!) Great bars include Mandarin and Sub Zero not to mention the Chase Park Plaza. If you want a special treat go to Bissingers amazing chocolate shop or the Cupcakery. Plus if you need a cheap haircut or color service come to St. Louis Academy Paul Mitchell Partner School. Haircuts are ten dollars and color starts at twenty-five bucks. And you get a free scalp massage with every haircut! All of these places are within walking distance of each other and there's plenty of meter parking and parking garages. Have fun!!
