The Khyber

About 135 years old and going strong, the Khyber is the most important original music venue in Olde City Philadelphia, with a great beer selection on tap and a jukebox full of great albums. There's a reason why The Stooges decided to play here when they did their back-to-their-roots reunion tour in 2004. This is where the majority of up and coming indie rock, punk, electronica, rock and otherwise unclassifiable bands come to play when they come to town. This bar is a landmark in Philadelphia.

Cherry Street Tavern

Do you like classic Philadelphia grease and good beer? If the answer is yes then you need to check out the Cherry Street Tavern. Located on the corner of 22nd and Cherry this dark, wood smokeless tavern is a mix of suited stockbrokers, scraggly professors, students and the blue collar Philadelphia man. With 16 beers on tap, 30 different bottles and the assortment of hard liquors found in any bar all being served by friendly and attractive wait staff there is something to tickle anyone's fancy. Not only does this bar have a great selection of liquid treats it also has a menu of some of Philadelphia's staple cuisines including roast beef and pork sandwiches, a variety of hoggies and of course the world famous Philly cheese steak all at a reasonable price and cooked to order at the end of the bar! So if you're looking for a cool place to relax, have a few drinks and just enjoy times with friends just check out one of my new Philadelphia favorites!

Noir Has DJs, Dancing, And Cheap Drinks!!

Bar Noir is a rare find in Rittenhouse with great music, hot people, and drink specials that keep your wallet happy. You walk down these mysterious stairs into a dark almost basement atmosphere with artwork and old concert posters all over the walls and a DJ set up in this hip booth in the back. Two bars with great specials including $3 Miller High Life Bottles, $3 Jager Shots, and $5 Heinken Keg Cans...who can resist?

I found out there are DJs almost every night of the week so you'll never hear the same boring music everytime you walk in. The crowd is always ready to dance and everyone's got this funky, fun, crazy attitude!!

Everyone is always looking for that hidden place that they can call their local hotspot, and Noir is mine. It's located on S. 18th St, not far from Rittenhouse Square, and the convenience just adds to the allure. If you're ready to take a break from the typical overpriced city spot, head to Noir and you're guarenteed a night you'll try to repeat every weekend!!
