Looking for a fresh pair of hard to find Dunks in Philly? Philly doesn't quite have the the quality of stores that NYC does, but UBIQ on 15th and Walnut actually has some nice Nikes, Adidas, Pumas, Vans etc.

They have plenty of limited edition kicks and interesting clothes, toys and other hipster nonsense. If you are trying to find a sweet pair of shoes not found in your local Footlocker, check out UBIQ.

Bottom Line:

If you're looking for something that's going to turn heads UBIQ in Philadelphia is the place to go. They have all of the foot gear you need. Shop around, but definitely check out UBIQ.

One of my new obsessions is shopping in Olde City, Philadelphia. Take a stroll down 2nd street and make your way down Race Street. You will come across some gorgeous buildings (converted into lofts),brilliant art galleries and unique boutiques such as FIVI.

FIVI, which is short for the owner's names, (Fiona and Victoria) contains one-of-a-kind hand-made jewelry, handbags and shoes from the Philippines. The looks are chic and the prices are reasonable. You're guaranteed to receive compliments on the accessories you purchase here!

Note: Stop in on the First Friday of each month--some shops and galleries in Olde City serve wine and hors d'oeuvres as you shop!

Center City Shopping

Shopping in Center City Philadelphia has, until recently, left something to be desired. Sure you could make the trek all the way out to the King of Prussia mall or hit the overly crowded and trendy Walnut street, but really who wants to bother. Luckily old buildings all around the city are getting facelifts from developers who see the true shopping potential in this great city.

Old city is known for bars, restaurants, clubs and galleries but lately there have been some wonderful stores that have cropped up along 3rd street. Check out Reform Vintage Modern (112 N. Third St.), Sugarcube (124 N. Third St.), Third Street Habit (153 N. Third St.) and Minima (118 N. Third St.). Oh and while you’re there, make sure to grab some lunch and some coffee at the wonderful Café Ole (147 N. Third St.).

Another great new shopping hot-spot is 13th st south of Sansom. Tony Goldman and his team at Goldman Properties are using the same skills they did when they developed SOHO and applying them to a massive development of this area. They started off with the residential building that has been coined the “White Building” and are now moving to commercial spaces all along the street. Ground was just broken on 3 brand new 1000 sqft storefronts that will bring some interesting new stores to the area. Make sure to check back frequently as a lot of the spaces in this area are going through changes and we expect to see a lot of new faces on this block over the next few months.

Once you’re credit cards are all maxed out take your cash and hit Lolita restaurant (106 S. 13th St. -- Cash Only) a fabulous BYOT (bring your own tequila) Mexican food restaurant on the same block. Be prepared to wait a little as it seems everyone in the area knows about this hidden gem. But do not fret, the wait is very much worth it.
