From my campus visit to my first day of class, the admissions office at Loyola was phenomenal. My admissions counselor, Susan, made me feel like a person and not just a statistic. Her personal touch through emails, phone calls, and notes was critical to my decision to enroll at Loyola. I remember meeting her for the first time at Discover Loyola and she addressed me by my email address! We had corresponded so much that not only did she remember my name, but also my email address. I will never forget Susan. In fact we keep in touch to this day! This personal touch was characteristic of my experience with the entire admissions process.

An important fact in Loyola's student population is the large off-campus population. While Loyola supports an incredibly diverse student population, this fact is tempered by the reality that many of the students you go to class with live in or around the city. Therefore, from four or five everyday, there is a mass exodus of the off-campus students. While upperclassman often chose to live in the surrounding area, or even downtown in Wrigleyville or Lincoln Park, the underclassman must live on campus. Often this is hard for students to know that their friends from class may not live in the dorm buildings, but eventually you come to see that it is a good thing that not everyone lives on campus. This means you meet people who know the city, who know the better places to go on the weekends. Also, there is a much higher percentage of women then men, but fear not ladies, you live in a city and there are lots of people around everywhere.

Loyola University Chicago has many various ways to apply, but by far the best is the FastTrack Application...this application comes to you and is pretty much completely filled out...all you have to do is fill out the blanks and if you want...you can send in an essay. If you receive one of these in the mail DEFINITELY fill it out and send it in. Because these applications are really only sent to students that Loyola wants to attend their school.
