Last night, the British-born Sri Lankan, Maya Arulpragasam, or better known as M.I.A., played at the Drexel Armory. It was certainly one of the best concert experiences I have had in Philadelphia. In other words she was amazing and what a way to end my Drexel career.

Even though it has been 5 years my friends and I still cannot grasp the fact that it is over. "How did that just happen?" I remember vividly my first day at Drexel. Impatient to enjoy my freedom from my parents, I was there three days before the actual move in date. I was sitting outside of Towers dorms, where people were standing and making conversation. I made one of my closest friends that night, to this day.

Drexel has been quite a ride. The experience had it's ups and downs, though in retrospect, it was an awesome time. It being quarter system with 10-week terms, and no summer breaks creates an intense "Work Hard, Play Hard" atmosphere. Of course this will be of value and applicable in the real world, in addition to all that I have learned from my 3 co-op internships and my year abroad in Paris.

The question is "If I could go back in time, would I do it all over again?" The answer is, with no hesitation, YES. I would perhaps try a little harder, but that maturity was part of growing up in college. People who go to Drexel University often complain, but it is what you make of it, like anything in life. It is a love hate relationship. Without a doubt I know that all my friends will be successful in what they do. The school prepares you for what is coming ahead, and has developed the confidence we need to succeed in the world today.

"Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish."

Drexel University is located in the University City section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A private university, founded in 1891, Drexel currently has approximately 12,000 undergraduates. Drexel boasts a rich history. In my opinion Drexel is the most underrated school in Philadelphia.

Drexel is an urban school located in downtown Philadelphia so naturally there is always something to do. College students should never have trouble finding an awesome experience because of this prime location. Drexel University's co-op program offers students one of the greatest real life learning experiences available.

Drexel Admission Experience

I was admitted into Drexel University in 2004. Looking back, I think I made the right decision to come here, although my parents may not feel the same way because Drexel was the most expensive school on my list. Here are several of my reasons that I feel I made the right decision.

Close proximity to my home-

I live about a half hour drive away from Drexel. Whether I have had to drive home for the holidays or I have needed help from my parents with something, it is a close drive. This was especially helpful when I moved into a different place 4 years in a row. Also, the more your parents see you, the more money they are likely to give you.

Philadelphia-

Ah the city of brotherly love. I actually don't remember the last time someone said that in a serious tone. Anyway, Philadelphia is an awesome city. From northern liberties to South Philly and the stadiums, there is a lot to explore and a whole lot to do. The history, restaurants and bars are good places to start.

Drexel Co-Op-

I believe I will be a couple steps ahead of any of my friends graduating from different colleges. My three Co-Ops have given me the experience and confidence required to enter the real world when I graduate. I may even end up working for one of the companies I did a Co-Op for.

Make your college decision not by where your best friend is going or what the biggest "party school" is. Think about your future and chose wisely.

Drexel is well known as an engineering school. Beyond offering well-known engineering programs, Drexel also offers renowned business programs, fashion and design as well as information systems amongst others. Drexel is comprised of seven colleges and two schools. This provides students with a large number of options in choosing a suitable major. Drexel is located next to the University of Pennsylvania. The Famous Co-op Program

Drexel's quarterly based school year, which helps to promote their co-op program. Students have the option of pursuing internships with up to three different employers throughout their career at Drexel, totally 18 months of professional experience. Past co-op companies include: Lockheed Martin, Merck, DuPont and GlaxoSmithKline (see all). The Co-op program provides students with an edge over other students by preparing them for the work force with real world experience before graduation.
