The Hang Out Spots
Article written by an anonymous user.
As with all colleges, students look for different areas to hang out. Drexel's campus is no different. Outside of student union are approximately twenty picnic tables, perfect for studying outdoors in nice weather or just hanging out.
Drexel has the only sand volleyball court in Philadelphia. The volleyball court is surrounded by grass and benches.
Passing by the Nesbitt Hall, one would notice the wall outside the gallery, which has been transformed into a chalkboard. The wall has become a message board to notify students of upcoming events.
As one continues down the path between the Armory and Nesbitt Hall, they notice squares which were painted by members of the Greek community during last years' Greek week. Each square has been designed to depict each organization's personality.
Continuing down the same path brings students to the main quad, located between Market and Chestnut. In the middle of the four busiest buildings on campus, is a large square complete with benches, trees and a water fountain. The fountain is named "The Flame of Knowledge."

The Building with it all

MacAlister Hall is connected to the Creese Student Union and the Mandell Theater. The dining hall is right outside. Inside MacAlister Hall are the real treasures of the building. The seven floors, including the basement, are full of offices, performing arts studios, piano room and the honors center. The first floor however, has things many other colleges lack. The Drexel bookstore is an affiliate of Barnes & Noble, where their gift cards are accepted. The Drexel Copy Center boasts quality and effectiveness above Kinko?s at a more reasonable price. There is also a small barber shop, called the Hair House, where students can receive haircuts at a reasonable price. Drexel also has their own bank, the AJ Drexel Bank. There are many ATMs throughout campus.

Campus Facade
Article written by an anonymous user.
Drexel University is located in the "University City" section of Philadelphia, located across the "great divide", a walkway dividing the two adjoining campuses, from the University of Pennsylvania. Drexel has a true urban college feel. The campus is roughly four city blocks long and six city blocks wide. The campus is surrounded by high traffic volume streets, and like all cities, the area boasts large sidewalks and crosswalks at all intersections.
The Drexel campus displays buildings which distinctly depict a variety of architectural generations. The Main Building was built in 1891, distinct with columns and marble stairs. The twenty-four buildings on campus range in creation from 1876 through the winter of 2005.
