The Handschumacher Dining Center is located in the Creese Student Center. It was designed by IM Pei's design company. The outside is designed as a scaled down version of the triangle at the Louvre in Paris. Thinking outside of the box, the firm decided to make the entrance to the cafeteria below ground.

The Handschumacher Dining Center provides continuous service from 7:30am - 7:30pm. Most stations remain open throughout the day, however some close to prepare for dinner and cleaning.

This new cafeteria offers nearly every time of food. There are 12 different food stations which provide a variety of options for students. These options include: Salads, sushi, Asian, Mexican, pizza, pasta, a deli, omelets as well as desserts. These stations are considered all you can eat for one swipe of your Dragon Card.

Meal Plan 101

Drexel offers three different meal plan options. The first is called the 'Gold' plan. This provides students with unlimited meals in the cafeteria as well as $200 ultima flex dollars per term. Ultima flex funds are similar to a debit card. The cost for this meal plan is $1420 per term. All resident freshmen must sign up for this meal plan.

The next option is five meals per week plus $225 ultima flex dollars. This plan is $960 per term. The third option is the nine meals per week option. This comes with $300 ultima flex dollars. This plan is $995 per term. This two second options are typically used to upperclassmen that live on campus.

These flex dollars may be used in the Intech Creese Cafe, North Side Market (Kelly Deli) and in the Ross Commons.

The biggest complaint Drexel students have about the food on campus is the cost. If you are not using your meal plan, expect to pay about $10 for lunch when using ultima funds. Lunch trucks are incredibly popular and located all around campus. The food is surprisingly good and relatively cheap.
