I have lived in Paris, D.C., and Philly. The great thing about Philadelphia is in fact it’s location. It is between two great cities Washington D.C. and NYC both about two hours away (relatively 2h and 1h30) by train, or you can take 95 by car or the China bus. For those gamblers out there, like a little entertainment at anytime of the day or night there is Atlantic City, which is about 45 min away. Furthermore New Jersey is a beach state. Hot day in the city, go to the beach where it is at least several degrees cooler and you can hang out in a swim suit all day with out people looking at you funny.
New Jersey gets a bad rep and honestly for no good reason. I fell into this illusion as well. I think it is the white shoed, wife beater wearing, blow out, “got my new hair cut” phony Italian we all associate with New Jersey. I didn’t even like Philly that much in the beginning, but it is a great city, and she grew on me.
Living in Philadelphia you got the beach, you’re between the Capital and Big Apple, Atlantic City, (though now apparently there is a Casino in PA somewhere close by), and everything else a town can offer. Oh and there is King of Prussia mall too. Largest mall on the east coast if I am not mistaken.
