Many students believe Mount Vernon is a bad place to live because it?s 15 minutes away from the main campus, but nearly everyone agrees that the best food available is here. During set meal times, students can eat in the Ames Dining Room, which offers home-style cooking. This is without a doubt some of the best food on campus, and many students will come from the main Foggy Bottom campus to grab brunch at Mount Vernon on Sunday mornings. At off peak times, students can grab hamburgers, grilled cheese, and other items at the grill.

Perhaps the best aspect of Mount Vernon dining: it?s cheap. Because the campus is located on the outskirts of Washington, DC, it is the most economical place for GW students to eat.
