Ghetto Plex

The Village North Theater, lovingly referred to as the “ghetto plex” by students, is a Loyola experience not soon forgotten. Located a few blocks north of campus, the ghetto plex is a local hot spot known for its cheap tickets, midnight shows, and sketchy ambiance. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one of the theaters with the lights on, and I’m not sure I want to! You never know what you’re going to get at the ghetto plex, which is half the fun…

Always be sure to dress for the weather just in case (I sat through Cold Mountain in January wearing a hat, gloves, scarf, and winter coat), and make sure you’re up to date on all of your shots (just kidding…sort of)! Every trip to the ghetto plex is an adventure!

They play four of the latest films and rotate them pretty often, so you’re sure to have all of your cinematic needs met. Definitely worth checking out!
