Unless you are into the sweaty teenager- and locals-only crowd, or just looking for a night out of dancing, nightclubs are not really that popular in Philly. Most are 18 to enter, 21 to drink, which attracts the high school crowd. On the other hand, if you are not 21, you don't have that many options other than college parties.

A lot of the clubs in Philly are the same theme, but there are plenty to choose from to find one you like. The best spot for clubs is Delaware Avenue, where you can find clubs such as Egypt, Chrome, Adrenaline, and Flow. Keep in mind that cab fare (it's the easiest way to get to the area from Temple) and cover can get a little expensive.

Club Flow is a popular spot for groups of girls because it is attached to the male strip club The Cave. If you go early enough to catch the strip show at the Cave, admission to Flow is free. But beware of the high school crowd on most weeknights when the age to enter is only 17. Sunday nights are better with a 21+ crowd only, but there is a cover price of $10.

The trendy nightclub Chrome is decorated just as you would imagine, and is another popular spot for the 18-21 crowd. It is a huge club with lots of different rooms to offer once you are inside, including a comfortable lounge area, and an outdoor deck area that is open in warm weather. The club also offers some wacky theme nights, such as White Trash Wednesdays. If you are not looking to spend a lot of cash, go early on Saturdays when drinks are only $1.00 until 11 p.m.

Shampoo Nightclub, though not on Delaware Ave., is another spot to definitely check out. The huge club includes a main dance area, as well as six other different areas including the Groove Garden, with a Jacuzzi in the summer, the Velvet Underground, and the Fountain Room. With four different bars, Shampoo tends to be a 21+ crowd, except for usually one night a week that is open to teenagers, and "Smile Thursdays" which are college nights.
