Dont Have a Car
Article written by an anonymous user.
Most DePaul students would say that a car is not nessessary- it is more of a nuisance. The reason being is that DePaul is located in the Chicago Loop and Lincoln Park- both of these areas are notorious for being extremely busy almost around the clock. Parking spots are limited to pricey garages and city streets. Parking on the street is not always guaranteed because of the different city permits one needs to park within a certain radius. Drivers must also note that they need to be patient and rather vigilant to find a spot, especially during rush hour times. Some students might be lured to less trafficked side streets but it is not recommended as some areas surrounding the campus are rather dangerous. (If you have to park, bring a friend to walk with you.)
If that is not enough to make someone think twice about bringing their car to school, also consider that the city of Chicago is not known for its reasonable gas prices. Therefore drivers might want to take a trip to the suburbs to refuel at a more reasonable price.
