M Street

Whether you want to dance, party, play pool, or just hang out with friends, G.W.U. is a great place to be with plenty of night life options. Some of the most popular options are dance clubs, bars, pool halls, music venues, and comedy clubs. Dance clubs are usually 18 and over, but expect a cover charge if you're underage (unless it's lady's night). Nation, Platinum, and Lulus are popular venues, with multi-level dance floors featuring a variety of music styles, from hip-hop to techno to rap to rock. If you're over 21 and looking to go to a good bar, the Adam's Morgan neighborhood is where everyone goes. It can be reached via the metro and has a variety of bars, including the famous Madam's Organ.

Closer to campus, Froggy Bottom Pub, McFaddens, and Lindy's are popular options. Froggy Botton Pub has a pool table as well. The most popular pool halls close to GW campus are Georgetown Billiards and Bufallo Billiards, both of which have dozens of tables and full-service bars. You have to be over 21 to get into Buffallo Billiards, but at Georgetown Billiards you can get in if you are 18. The most popular music venue by far is the 9:30 club, which hosts every and any kind of band that comes to DC - the ticketmaster in the Marvin Center has up-to-date lists of upcoming shows; be sure to check it out. Finally, if you're willing to put forward $15 to $35 dollars, you'll find DC Improv well worth your money. That is the place that popular comedians go to perform when they're in D.C.
