Drexel University housing accommodates approximately 2600 students in the seven different residence halls. Calhoun, Kelly, Myers, Towers and Van Rensselaer are designated for first year students. Freshmen may select their preferred dorm, but selections are based upon initial housing deposit. The earlier the deposit is made the better a student has at residing in their preferred dorm.

East Hall is selected for honors housing. North Hall is reserved for upperclassmen. Each building is co-ed. In order to enter each building and get past the security desk, the student must have their Dragon Card. Each student is allowed to sign in up to three guests at one time. Each floor or wing has at least one resident assistant (RA).

Provided Furniture

Each student is provided by Drexel University with furniture. Each room comes equipped with two of each of the following: desk, desk chair, wardrobe, dresser, bed. The rooms do not have closets, but the large dressers and wardrobes provide students with plenty of storage space for their clothing.

The beds may be bunked or not. If the beds remain un-bunked, the student has the ability to loft the bed, creating more storage space. Students are responsible for bedding and any additional decorations.

Roommates

Students may request to live with someone that you know. Residence Life tries to make every effort they can in order to accommodate requests.

If you either do not know anyone else coming to Drexel or choose not to live with a friend, you fill out an information survey. This is done over the summer. Students are asked basic questions about their daily routine. This allows for the University to look for similarities in patterns which would work well together. Students are asked about their daily habits and hobbies. This survey will aid in helping to find a roommate match.

The Extras

Each residence center has ample laundry services. There is a full service kitchen on each floor. The kitchens are equipped with stove, oven, freezers and lockers for students to store food.

There is also a game room with a pool table, ping pong table and a foosball table in each dorm.

The dorms each have a general lounge. It is here where students come to hang out on the many couches and catch up gossip of television shows on the big screen televisions.
